Block 59 has quickly become one of my favorite spots to send friends and clients who are not feeling the downtown scene, but still want to try something new! Here’s my running list of favorites, plus what’s still on my to-try list.
Cava — my go-to for a quick, healthy lunch/dinner when I don’t want to think too hard about where to eat. Build-your-own bowls, fast, and reliably good. cava.com
Piccolo Buco — owned by Cooper’s Hawk, this one’s for a slower night. Roman-style pizza and a serious wine selection make it a great pick for a ladies’ night or a date night that doesn’t feel rushed. piccolobuco.coopershawk.com
Hollywood Palms — a dine-in theatre that’s been around long enough to have a loyal following, and every guest I’ve brought here has loved it. It’s less “see a movie” and more “have an experience” — that’s the whole appeal. hollywoodpalmscinema.com
Lazy Dog — a menu with something for absolutely everyone, which makes it my pick for lunch dates or a full family dinner where opinions on food differ by a decade or two. lazydogrestaurants.com
The Cheesecake Factory — I went to the soft opening and I’m still thinking about the menu. Also, does anyone not love cheesecake? Didn’t think so. locations.thecheesecakefactory.com
Dumont Creamery & Cafe — next on my list. This is set to be the brand’s first Illinois location, bringing globally inspired ice cream flavors to Block 59. I’ll report back once I’ve tried it. theblock59.com

Block 59 sits right off Route 59 and 75th Street, which makes it an easy spot for Naperville no matter which part of town you’re coming from. It’s also a good reminder of how much is still being built out in and around Naperville!
